Picture this: Amanda + Peter’s mountain engagement photos inspired by their epic ski tour proposal deep into the secluded backcountry of Vail. The snow was coming down, creating a winter wonderland for their adventure. And guess what? She had eagle eyes and spotted the ring box in Peter’s pocket the whole time! Talk about a fun secret to keep. With no one else around, Peter seized the moment and popped the question. He quickly turned the snowy landscape into their private romantic seclusion. Whoever said love can’t be mixed with a little adrenaline rush?

Meet Amanda and Peter, two passionate skiing enthusiasts and proud locals of the picturesque town of Vail. Fate brought them together a few years ago when they connected on the popular dating app, Hinge. Their first date? A thrilling day on the slopes, where they playfully tested each other’s skills, quickly realizing they were a perfect match. Little did they know that their shared love for skiing would become the cornerstone of their relationship, flourishing amidst the beauty of the heartland.
Their journey deepened during a planned hut trip, where they were meant to be accompanied by a few friends. However, due to Covid, their friends had to cancel. Amanda and Peter chose to embrace the adventure alone, and it turned out to be the catalyst for their love story. Enjoying the solitude of the backcountry, their connection deepened, and they fell head over heels for each other surrounded by the mountains.
Peter grew up in the bustling DC area and Amanda grew up in Chicago. But they both felt an undeniable pull towards the mountains, craving a life filled with health, adventure, and natural beauty. After their encounter, Amanda made the life-changing decision to move across the pass and join Peter in the mountains. She considers it the best decision she ever made. Now, as they celebrate their newly engaged status, Amanda and Peter have embarked on yet another chapter of their lives. Filled with excitement and anticipation, they eagerly settle into their dream mountain home, ready for the journey of building their future together.

After stumbling upon my photography online, Amanda and Peter wasted no time in reaching out to book their mountain engagement photos that would perfectly capture their adventurous spirit. Thrilled to be part of their journey, I eagerly joined them as a photographer specializing in outdoorsy and distinctive shoots. Together, we closed down Vail Mountain for the season. Skiing, laughing, and letting loose, we captured their playful and loving dynamic. And to top it all off, we indulged in a ski charcuterie board.
We also playfully dubbed it the “charcutski picnic,” adding a whimsical touch to the experience. As we wrapped up the session, the anticipation for their upcoming wedding next year grew. I couldn’t be more excited to continue documenting their love story.

Ellen and Mark’s Camp Hale wedding was the kind of mountain day that keeps you on your toes. They actually found me through Instagram after falling in love with my editing style and how I capture couples looking natural. From our first chat, it was clear these two wanted their wedding photos to feel relaxed, […]

Rowan and Jake first popped up on my radar as guests at a wedding I photographed in June 2025. Though, funny enough, we didn’t actually meet that day (wedding chaos will do that to you). Fast-forward a few months, and they reached out after getting engaged at the end of summer, ready to dive into […]

Kyle and Abby’s celebration at The Mountain Wedding Garden in Crested Butte was a dream from start to finish—and for me, it became a love letter to wedding film photography. The groom is a big film enthusiast, so much so that he handed my husband (who is also my assistant) his Pentax 645 medium format […]

Anna and Zach’s Vail Golf Club wedding was the perfect mix of mountain magic and editorial elegance. Vail has always been Anna’s happy place—where she grew up skiing and where she and Zach first fell in love—so it was only natural to bring everyone they love back here to celebrate. From the very beginning, Anna […]

Kirsten and Will first slid into my DMs (well… my inquiry form, but that’s basically the same thing) back in June 2024. On it, Kirsten wrote, “I love your editing style and previous photos at Piney.” Piney Lake (Piney River Ranch) is one of my all-time favorite spots, so when I saw they were dreaming […]

There’s always something special about photographing a destination wedding, especially when it involves a place as stunning as Baja Luna in San José del Cabo. The bride happens to be best friends with one of the planners I work with frequently in Colorado. She was helping Elisa find a photographer, and after a little online […]
