Jessie and Tyler’s Breckenridge, Colorado, wedding day epitomizes making it uniquely and organically you. Before I get into the details of their celebration, let’s back up a little…

Jessie and I were counterparts in my ‘past life’ (pre-full-time wedding photography). We shared the same role within our company’s marketing team but at separate ski resorts in different states. We shared the same interest in photography and enjoyed capturing memories in our adventurous lifestyles outside the 9-5. Fast forward to the summer of 2020, when our company delivered the news that most of us would have our roles eliminated by that fall. As I started building my full-time photography business, Jessie also began capturing weddings, elopements, and couples but continued marketing for outdoor brands.
That following summer, my books brought me to Park City (her home) to capture my first solo wedding. I didn’t skip a beat in asking her to be by my side to assist me as a second shooter. We had so much fun working together, and I was grateful to establish that new side of our relationship. She had gotten engaged that spring, and I remember asking if they had begun planning. They had some ideas of how they wanted their wedding to go, but they hadn’t laid down any solid plans. In my head, I remember thinking, ‘Man, I would be so flattered if she asked me to capture this day for her and her boo,’ but I didn’t believe I was good enough.

Let’s fast forward again to the current day, spring of 2022 when I got a text from her saying, “Hey, got plans for July 24th??” Jessie and Tyler invited me to capture their intimate Summit County Colorado wedding day at a beautiful location. One that I frequent for backcountry skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer. The catch? I had an elopement the day before in Southern Colorado, about five hours away, but I said yes. How could I miss capturing such a beautiful day for a super rad couple?! I left that Ouray wedding at 10 pm the night before and met these two at the trailhead at 7 am the next day, and MAN, was it all worth it.
We spent a few hours romping around this gorgeous basin, celebrating their love before a small handful of their friends and family met us for their ceremony. After their “I do’s,” everyone cracked open some beer from the coolers we had hauled up and mingled in the sun before hiking back down as one big ‘wedding party mob.” They celebrated with food, drinks, and the Beau Briggs Band in Summit County, Colorado, to wrap up the evening.
The day was perfect and the purest example of curating a wedding day that is authentically you.

Perched high above the Vail Valley, the Vail Mountain Wedding Deck offers sweeping alpine views and a quiet that’s hard to find elsewhere. At over 10,000 feet, you quite literally rise above it all. With the Gore Range stretching endlessly behind you and Colorado’s beloved 14er, Mount of the Holy Cross, anchoring the horizon, the […]

Tucked into the Elk Mountains of western Colorado, you’ll find Crested Butte. It’s about four hours from Denver, but once you’re there, the pace shifts. You get less noise, more space, and better views, perfect for those dream summer mountain engagement photos. In the summer, it’s known as the wildflower capital of Colorado, and yes, […]

Jackie and Mike’s day is proof that a non-venue wedding in Telluride can be just as intentional, meaningful, and beautifully planned as any traditional celebration. They found me through a past bride (the best kind of introduction, if you ask me), and by the time we connected, there was already trust. They loved my work, […]

Snowy engagement photos in Vail are never a bad idea. You get consistent powder, open mountain views, and clean backdrops that don’t compete. The landscape is simple, which means the focus stays on the couple, not the scenery trying to steal the show. Snow softens everything visually, from light to color to texture. It creates […]

Meredith and Broderick’s late-August Telluride wedding unfolded with the kind of mountain-town charm that always keeps you on your toes—sun one minute, clouds the next. I covered their entire weekend, starting with the welcome evening and carrying all the way through the wedding day, which gave me the chance to document not just the big […]

Vail has no shortage of stunning backdrops, but when it comes to Vail wedding venues, there’s something undeniably magical about tying the knot in the mountains. Maybe it’s the crisp alpine air, the way the Gore Range catches the evening light, or the simple luxury of being surrounded by scenery that feels straight out of […]
